Do I Qualify for Structured Family Care in Georgia?
SFC pays family members to care for loved ones at home — but there are eligibility requirements for both the person receiving care and the caregiver.

Care Recipient Requirements
✓Georgia resident, age 18 or older
✓Enrolled in Georgia Medicaid (SSI or Low Income Medicaid)
✓Has a functional limitation requiring daily assistance (bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, medication)
✓Prefers to remain at home rather than move to a nursing facility
✓Has a willing and eligible family caregiver available
Caregiver Requirements
✓Family member or close friend of the person receiving care (spouse, adult child, sibling, cousin, neighbor, etc.)
✓Age 18 or older
✓Able to pass a background check
✓Willing to complete required caregiver training (provided through us)
✓Cannot be the legal spouse of the care recipient (all other relationships qualify)

Common Questions
Do I have to be a licensed caregiver?
No. SFC is designed for family members who are already providing care, not professional nurses or aides. No license or prior experience is required.
Can I get paid to care for my parent?
Yes. Adult children caring for a parent are one of the most common SFC caregiver arrangements. As long as the parent is Medicaid-eligible and meets functional requirements, you can qualify to be paid.
Can a spouse be the paid caregiver?
No — Georgia’s SFC program does not allow legal spouses to be paid caregivers. All other family relationships (parent, child, sibling, in-law, etc.) do qualify.
What if my loved one doesn’t have Medicaid yet?
